Online piano and voice lessons
The same warm hour of undivided attention, at your own instrument, in your own room. Craig has taught online for years: to students who'd rather not cycle in the rain, and to students on the other side of the world.
Craig Ralston teaches piano and voice lessons online in English, worldwide, with a free first lesson for new students.

Is an online lesson really as good?
For nearly everything a lesson does, yes.
Craig can hear your tone, see your hands and your posture, and stop you at the bar that needs stopping at. What online can't do is reach over and move your wrist, so the lesson leans harder on listening and demonstration.
Most students practise better for it: everything gets explained rather than shown in passing.
Can I take lessons from outside the Netherlands?
Yes. Craig teaches in English, works across time zones, and has students who have never set foot in the studio.
If you've been looking for a teacher with a doctorate and thirty years on stage, and there isn't one in your city, this is the way around that. Lessons run 45 or 60 minutes, at the same rates as in person.
Can I mix online and in-person lessons?
Yes, and plenty of students do.
Some come to the studio when it's convenient and take the rest online during exam weeks, deep winter, a month abroad, or a busy stretch at work. You keep your slot either way; the lesson simply moves.
In-person lessons happen at Craig's home studio; you can also combine online lessons with piano, voice or theory and composition.
What do I need for an online lesson?
A laptop or tablet, headphones, and your instrument. Nothing to install.
Put the camera to the side so your hands show. Craig sends a link for Zoom, Meet or WhatsApp, whichever you already use.

How much do online lessons cost?
The same as in person: €40 for 45 minutes and €50 for 60 minutes. Your first lesson is free.
Which video platform do you use?
Zoom, Google Meet or WhatsApp, whichever you already use. Craig sends the link, so there is nothing for you to install or sign up for.
Do I need a special microphone?
No. A laptop or tablet and a pair of headphones is enough. Headphones matter more than a microphone, because they stop the sound looping back.
What time zones can Craig teach in?
Craig is based in the Netherlands (CET) and already teaches students in other time zones. Ask and he will tell you honestly whether a workable slot exists.
Is the first online lesson free too?
Yes. The first lesson is free and costs you nothing but a link. Half an hour together tells you more about whether it fits than any website can.
